Biography
Vivanativa, this name originated in Quebradillas, a small town up north the enchanted island of Puerto Rico, home to two young boys that grew up together and who were influenced by a variety of artists from The Beatles to Héctor Lavoe. These boys, Nabeel Abdulrahman and Javier Hiram, grew up to be the founders of the band. In 1997 they decided to get together and create a band that was very different from anything we’ve heard before. During this time the band consolidated several years of work and became known for their excellent music and original style with their first production titled, “Vivanativa”” (1997). The sincerity that emerges in each of their songs allows them to connect with their followers’ emotions where they find in the band’s rock music an expression of their own aspirations and dreams.
With a touch of psychedelia they released their second album “VIEJO” (1999) a production that reflects the evolution of the band. “VIEJO” is a word that expresses character, personality and the grand journey; defining and achieving a musical and individual maturity. Followed by “Claro” (2002) “Dulce Sodio” (2006) “Evidencia” (2009) and the most recent “Q” (2012).
Their music has been extended to important cities such as Ciudad Mexico, Madrid, Barcelona. This journey has given them the opportunity to share stages with important and world renowned artists such as Ricky Martin, La Ley, Maná, Enanitos Verdes, Miguel Mateo, Bon Jovi, Van Halen and Aerosmith among others. Vivanativa, un nombre que apareció como mucho de lo que gira alrededor de ellos, por coincidencia por el destino. Sus creadores son Javier Hiram Gómez y Nabeel Abdulrahman, dos jóvenes que crecieron en Quebradillas, un pueblito al norte de la “Isla del Encanto”, Puerto Rico. Reconocen variadas influencias musicales desde los Beatles hasta Héctor Lavoe. En el año 1997 decidieron unir sus caminos para crear la banda que estaría marcando la historia del rock en español.
Los Nativos lanzaron su primera producción titulada VIVANATIVA(1997), en la cual la Banda consolidó varios años de trabajo y se dió a conocer por su excelente música y su estilo original. Su sinceridad aflora en cada una de sus canciones con las que logran conectar sus emociones a la de sus seguidores que encuentran en el Rock- Nativo la expresión de sus inquietudes y sueños. Con la psicodelia alborotada y la pisada firme, lanzaron su segunda producción discográfica llamada VIEJO (1999), un compacto que refleja la evolución del grupo. “Viejo” es una palabra que determina carácter, personalidad y trayectoria; definiendo el logro y la madurez alcanzada tanto en lo musical como lo individual. Luego le siguieron los álbumes CLARO(2002) DULCE SODIO(2006), EVIDENCIA(2009) y la más reciente producción Q (2012).
Estos incomparables cantautores han llevado sus éxitos a mercados tan importantes como Ciudad México, Madrid, Barcelona y compartido tarima con grandes artistas como Ricky Martin, La Ley, Maná, Miguel Mateos, Enanitos Verdes, Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Robi Rosa y Aerosmith, entre otros.
